The breakout stars of 2025’s romantic blockbuster Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, have been the talk of the town lately—not just for their record-breaking chemistry, but for their grounded approach to stardom. In a recent heartfelt interview, Ahaan opened up about a personal ritual the duo shared before their film’s release: visiting various places of worship.
While many might assume the newcomers were praying for the staggering ₹580 crore worldwide success the film eventually achieved, Ahaan revealed that their intentions were far humbler.
Speaking about the days leading up to the July 18 release last year, Ahaan shared that he and Aneet were more focused on their future in the industry than on box office rankings.
“I remember taking her to different places of worship, just praying—not for a hit, but simply that the film would recover its cost so we could keep getting work and continue doing what we love,” Ahaan told Filmfare.
As debutants, the duo admitted they didn’t initially expect a massive turnout. Ahaan recalled his sheer disbelief on the morning of the release when he was sent a video of crowds gathered outside a cinema hall. He admitted he initially thought the footage was for a different film until director Mohit Suri confirmed the audience was indeed there for Saiyaara.
The spiritual journey for the pair began early on. Reports highlight that Ahaan first took Aneet to Mount Mary Church in Bandra back when she was still in the audition phase for the film. Later, just days before the premiere, the actors were spotted seeking blessings at the Siddhivinayak Temple alongside their families.
This “spiritual trail” has seemingly come full circle; the duo recently revisited Mount Mary to celebrate the film’s massive success and its 50-day theatrical milestone.
Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara told the poignant story of Krish and Vaani, a couple battling the odds of a serious medical condition. The film didn’t just touch hearts; it shattered records to become the highest-grossing romantic film in Indian cinema history.
The prayers for “more work” seem to have been answered tenfold. Following their successful debut:
The Reunion: Ahaan and Aneet are set to reunite with Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films for a new musical romance, reportedly titled Satranga, slated for 2027.
Solo Projects: Ahaan is currently prepping for an action-heavy gangster drama directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, while Aneet has joined the Maddock Films horror-comedy universe with Shakti Shalini.
With their feet firmly on the ground and a string of big-budget projects ahead, the “Ahneet” pairing continues to prove that their off-screen bond is as sincere as the one that captivated audiences on screen. To
