The actor emphasized that the traffic management systems implemented in Rishikesh—the gateway to the pilgrimage—have been highly effective. He lauded the administration for their proactive approach in tackling the unique challenges of the 2026 season.
Beyond observing the arrangements, Shetty revealed his own intentions to undertake the full Char Dham circuit. While his current visit to Rishikesh was brief, he confirmed that a dedicated pilgrimage is on his upcoming schedule.
“I plan to undertake the Char Dham pilgrimage myself during my next visit,” he said, encouraging other devotees to approach the journey with confidence. He urged pilgrims to ignore negative rumors circulating on social media, asserting that the ground reality is one of efficiency and safety.
Shetty’s endorsements come at a critical time for the state administration. With over 250,000 devotees having visited the shrines in the first nine days alone, the government has been under pressure to ensure safety and comfort.
Official measures this year include a revamped online registration system and real-time monitoring of landslide-prone areas.
