The incident reportedly took place at her residence in Mumbai on April 26, where a routine grocery delivery turned into a harrowing ordeal for the actor and her family. According to Riva, the delivery agent arrived at her home around 3:30 PM with an order, but his behavior was allegedly rude and inappropriate from the moment he arrived. Despite her attempts to handle the situation, the agent’s tone remained aggressive, prompting her mother, Nisha Arora, to step in and try to de-escalate the conflict. However, the intervention did not resolve the matter, as the agent allegedly continued to behave disrespectfully toward the family.

The situation further intensified when Riva’s sister, Muskan Arora, encountered the same delivery agent in the building’s elevator while he was attempting to leave. Riva alleges that the agent directed crass and unprovoked language toward her sister, refusing to stop even when confronted. The family claims they were subjected to verbal harassment for nearly 30 to 40 minutes, starting from their doorstep and continuing as the agent moved through the building premises. Feeling that the situation had crossed a serious line, the family took immediate action by following the agent downstairs to prevent him from leaving and promptly contacted the Mumbai Police. The authorities responded quickly to the scene, providing much-needed support to the family and taking the necessary steps to handle the matter through official channels.

Reflecting on the incident ten days later, Riva emphasized that her decision to speak out was not intended to target a specific profession but to highlight the need for accountability and mutual respect in customer service. She has since filed a formal complaint with Blinkit and is currently awaiting a resolution and a clear response from the company regarding the conduct of their personnel. The actor has also voiced her concerns about the importance of stricter background checks and better professional training for delivery agents, suggesting that companies should focus on communication and professionalism alongside logistics. While the experience was deeply upsetting, Riva mentioned that the support from her building’s security staff was instrumental in ensuring their safety, and she remains committed to maintaining a positive outlook while encouraging others to stand up against such behavior.
