Bollywood actor Ahan Shetty has recently addressed the persistent rumors surrounding the alleged high cost of his personal entourage, which some reports claimed led to him losing out on significant film projects, like Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sanki. Breaking his silence, the young star firmly denied the allegations, calling them completely untrue and shedding light on the harsh realities of surviving in the unforgiving world of Indian cinema.

The speculation suggested that Ahan’s team which includes staff like a hair and makeup artist, stylist, spot boy, driver, and others was costing productions too much, putting a strain on film budgets. These rumors reportedly led to a pause on Sanki, though later updates from Ahan suggested that his entourage cost was not the actual reason the film was put on hold.

In a candid interview, Ahan made it clear that the articles written about his expensive entourage and their link to his project losses were baseless. He stressed that he, his close circle, and his producers knew the truth all along. This strong denial aims to set the record straight against what has been described by his father, Suniel Shetty, as a “negative campaign” orchestrated against him.

Suniel Shetty, in an earlier outburst, had passionately defended his son, emphasizing that Ahan has been raised to be financially responsible and often pays for his own expenses instead of burdening the production house.

Ahan’s experience highlights the growing trend and debate within Bollywood regarding the exorbitant demands and accompanying costs of a star’s entourage, especially for newer actors. However, Ahan’s response transcended a simple denial; it became a commentary on the resilience required to thrive in the film industry.

Facing such public scrutiny and professional setbacks, Ahan shared that he has learned to develop a “thick skin”. He acknowledged that the rumors and negativity do affect a person, but he chooses not to let them bother him too much. His philosophy is one of acceptance and forward movement: “Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and that’s life. You learn from it and move on.”

He admitted that these challenges, especially the period following his debut film Tadap (2021) which released during the COVID-19 pandemic with limited theatre capacity led to a lot of self-doubt. The subsequent year was marked by uncertainty in the industry, which coupled with personal losses and shifts in his social circle, provided him with life lessons about who truly supports him during both his highs and his lows.
