Siddiqui shared that he lacked visual archival material for Manto and chose instead to place his trust entirely in the director’s vision while connecting the character’s reality to his own human instincts. Taking this guidance to heart, Chadha shifted his focus away from mimicry, choosing instead to rely on the creators’ script, deliberate pacing, and internal stillness to deliver an authentic performance. This perspective shift enabled him to break away from his comedic image, leaving a memorable mark on viewers with his restrained and powerful portrayal.
