Popular Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh recently shared a heartwarming and unexpected story from his personal life that highlights a unique bond with the Mumbai paparazzi culture. While leaving a local restaurant in Mumbai, the actor encountered a young street child who was selling small items for Rs 100.

Like many people today who rely primarily on digital payment methods, Riteish was not carrying any physical cash. He checked with his driver for spare change, but his chauffeur did not have cash either. When Riteish asked the child if he accepted digital payments like Google Pay, the young vendor mentioned that he did not have a UPI account or QR code available to receive the money electronically.

Seeing the situation unfold amidst traffic, honking cars, and surrounding photographers, a paparazzo named Sushil Mohite immediately offered to step in and pay the Rs 100 to the child on the actor’s behalf. Although Riteish was initially hesitant to take money from a photographer, he realized that refusing the offer would mean the young child would miss out on the help. The photographer refused to take the money back on the spot, telling the actor to let it go. Because the situation was rushed and chaotic, Riteish snapped a quick photograph of the paparazzo on his mobile phone before driving away, determined to track him down and return the amount.

Once inside his vehicle, Riteish discussed the gesture with his wife, actress Genelia D’Souza, and decided to post the photographer’s picture on his official Instagram story to locate his contact details. The story quickly caught attention, allowing Riteish to obtain the photographer’s phone number, express his sincere gratitude, and complete the digital transfer to reimburse him.

Reflecting on the sweet encounter during an interaction, Riteish playfully pointed out the common narrative that celebrities pay media photographers, lightheartedly noting that in his case, he was actually the one who got paid by a paparazzo. Both Riteish and Genelia praised the paparazzi for showing kindness beyond their regular media duties, proving that moments of mutual respect and compassion frequently happen behind the scenes in Bollywood.
