Today’s episode Anupam asks Pakhi to listen to her calmly. Pakhi snaps back saying she does not want Anupamaa’s boring lectures. She says that after a long time happiness has finally entered her life and she wants to enjoy it without interference. She questions what the problem is.
Pakhi gently explains that she is tired of loneliness and like everyone else she too wants someone of her own. She recalls the reunion party where everyone arrived with their husbands or wives while Pakhi came alone with only Diwakar. All her friends are happily married and Pakhi feels left behind. She fears that once Ishani gets married and leaves she will be completely alone. Pakhi wants someone who cares for her, gives her attention, surprises her with gifts and stays happy with her.
Pakhi says that Anupamaa herself is alone and questions why Anupamaa cannot understand her pain. Anupamaa replies that she understands but Pakhi must also try to understand her concern. She says Diwakar may be a good man and Pakhi can consider marriage but she should not rush into it. Anupamaa advises Pakhi to spend time with him, understand his background, and learn about his family. She reminds Pakhi how she once admitted she hurried into marriage when Adhik raised his hand on her. She clarifies that Diwakar may not be like that but there is no harm in being careful. Pakhi ends the conversation saying she will decide for herself.
Tension at the Kothari House Over the Baby Shower
At the Kothari house Vasundhara announces that she is going to the farmhouse. She bitterly comments that whenever the Shah family is involved in happiness it turns into a reason for tears.
Vasundhara also mentions that Gautam seems upset and has gone somewhere unsure whether he will attend the baby shower. Parag and Khayati try to convince her that her absence will hurt Prarthana. However Vasundhara insists that she does not like the Shah family’s presence.
Prarthana firmly states that if the Shahs are not welcome then her baby shower will be held at her Kothari house instead. She declares that if the Kothari family dislikes seeing the Shahs then none of them are invited. Meeta worries about the preparations already done but Prarthana replies that no preparation is more important than a family’s respect. She accuses everyone of thinking only about themselves and not about what she wants.
Prarthana expresses her pain saying her family seems determined to ruin her home. She points out how Raja’s life was already destroyed and now they are targeting her as well. She says she stays in the house only for Khayati’s happiness and Ansh adjusts only because of her. She is deeply hurt that even today Vasundhara is throwing tantrums first refusing the Shahs’ arrival and now threatening to leave because they are coming.
Vasundhara claims she is fighting for dignity but Prarthana counters sharply saying that a family that can accept someone like Gautam twice as a son-in-law has no right to point fingers at others. The argument escalates until Parag intervenes deciding that the baby shower will take place at the Kothari house and that everyone must tolerate the Shahs for Prarthana’s happiness. Prarthana warns that she will not tolerate any disrespect towards the Shah family.
The Shah Family Preparation
The Shah family gets ready to attend the baby shower. Leela prays that everything goes smoothly. Hasmukh reminds everyone to forget anger and complaints and focus only on Ansh and Prarthana’s happiness. Kinjal hopes the function brings Pari and Raja closer but advises Pari to act sensibly and not react in anger.
Toshu mocks Kinjal but she warns him that if he creates any drama at the Kothari house she will not spare him. Toshu tries to talk to Pari but she refuses to listen. Toshu says she is doing well in Mumbai and should think practically about her future even suggesting divorce and alimony. Pari firmly says she loves Raja and will not divorce him. She warns Toshu not to create a scene if he truly cares about her happiness.
Ansh Seeks Anupamaa’s Guidance
Ansh asks Anupamaa whether taking a decision for one’s own happiness makes someone selfish. Anupamaa replies that if a decision brings happiness to both people without hurting others then it is not selfish. Relieved Ansh thanks her and says he will soon share his decision.
Prarthana confides in Rahi that she feels scared. Rahi reassures her saying fear makes a person more alert and reduces mistakes. Prarthana says she has already made one mistake in life and does not want to repeat it. Rahi promises her support and says Prem and Anupamaa will also stand by her.
Rahi’s Fear Diwakar’s Dark Intentions
Rahi drops her earring which Diwakar picks up. Seeing him at the Kothari house shocks her. Diwakar casually says that since he was not invited to a family function he came on his own because of his love. He then reveals a disturbing truth he never loved Pakhi and only pretended to be with her to stay close to Rahi as he is obsessed with her.
Rahi’s horrifying imagination breaks when Prem calls her name. Prem comforts her and assures her that Diwakar will be handled. As Prem tries to console her Meeta notices them making both Rahi and Prem shy as they quickly make excuses and leave.
The Baby Shower Begins with New Conflict
Anupamaa arrives at the Kothari house with the Shah family and is formally welcomed. Rahi announces Prarthana’s arrival followed by a dance performance with her. Anupamaa and Ansh also join the celebration. Prarthana expresses her happiness at seeing both families together and Parag thanks Anupamaa and the Shahs for coming.
Vasundhara questions why there is a second chair in the ritual. Anupamaa explains that since both Ansh and Prarthana are becoming parents both deserve equal respect in the baby shower. Vasundhara argues that traditions do not change with time but Anupamaa counters that traditions must be updated to stay relevant.
The argument escalates when Vasundhara insists that if the father is to sit in the ritual Gautam should replace Ansh declaring that Ansh is only a namesake father while Gautam is the biological one.
Precap: Anupamaa performs a dance at Prarthana’s baby shower. Vasundhara insists that Gautam should sit in Ansh’s place during the ritual. As Gautam moves to sit Anupamaa pulls the chair from behind causing Gautam to fall shocking everyone.
