Karan Patel was born on 23 November 1983 in Kolkata West Bengal into a Gujarati family. Though born in Kolkata he grew up in Mumbai where his interest in acting and performing arts developed at an early age.

He completed his schooling at Utpal Shanghvi Global School Mumbai and later graduated from Mithibai College of Arts. Determined to take acting seriously Karan trained at Namit Kapoor’s Acting School and further polished his skills at the London School of Arts.
