The wait for one of India’s most atmospheric crime dramas is nearly over. Netflix has officially announced that the second season of the hit series Kohrra will begin streaming on February 11, 2026.

After a debut season that swept awards and captured audiences with its gritty, realistic portrayal of the Punjab heartland, the show returns with a brand-new mystery, a shift in location, and a powerhouse addition to the lead cast.

While the first season centered on the secrets of Jagrana, the upcoming installment moves the lens to the town of Dalerpura. The plot kicks off with a chilling discovery: a woman is found murdered inside her brother’s home.
What follows is not just a hunt for a killer, but a deep dive into the “quiet violence” that exists within families. Showrunners have hinted that the fog—the literal and metaphorical Kohrra—will once again serve as a backdrop for a story where the truth is rarely black and white.

The biggest buzz surrounding Season 2 is the fresh dynamic between its leads. Barun Sobti reprises his role as Garundi (Amarpal Jasjit Singh). Having been transferred to a new station, Garundi is no longer the local favorite; he must prove himself all over again under a much tougher superior. Mona Singh joins the series as Dhanwant Kaur, a senior officer known for her uncompromising nature.

Early reports suggest the friction and eventual partnership between the two will be the emotional anchor of the season. The cast is further bolstered by the addition of Rannvijay Singha, who plays a key figure in the investigation.

In a move that has fans excited, Sudip Sharma, the mastermind behind Paatal Lok and the first season of Kohrra, makes his directorial debut this season. Sharing the director’s chair with Faisal Rahman, Sharma aims to maintain the “slow-burn” intensity that made the original a cult favorite.

“Season 2 is about the walls we build around ourselves,” Sharma said in a recent press statement. “We wanted to explore how the past haunts the present, even when we think we’ve moved on.”

Fans of the first season should prepare for a similar tone: a mix of local Punjabi culture, complex human relationships, and a procedural that values character depth over jump scares. With the premiere just weeks away, the return of Kohrra is set to be one of the most significant digital releases of early 2026. To know such latest updates tuned to tellyboosters.com Thank you!
