Laila Nutraceuticals a globally recognised name in botanical research and nutraceutical innovation has marked an important step in women’s healthcare by unveiling a science-led women’s wellness initiative at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The launch signals a move towards structured preventive healthcare solutions designed specifically for women at different stages of life.
Former Union Minister and national leader Smriti Irani known for her long-standing work in women’s empowerment congratulated Yuthika Gokaraju on leading this initiative. She highlighted the wider economic and public health impact of investing in women’s wellness, calling it essential for building a future-ready society.
Speaking on the occasion Smriti Irani said that women must be placed at the centre of decision-making not only in education and opportunities but also in health and wellbeing. She added that an initiative of this scale driven by scientific research and led by a young woman reflects both India’s capability and its sense of responsibility. According to her prioritising women’s health is no longer just a social commitment but a national and economic necessity.
The newly launched platform represents an extension of Laila Nutraceuticals nearly five decades of research into botanical science and clinical validation. Designed as a preventive life-stage aligned wellness framework the initiative aims to address long-standing gaps in women’s healthcare through evidence-based and clinically supported solutions.
The initiative is spearheaded by Yuthika Gokaraju Vice President Business Development at Laila Nutraceuticals. She explained that women’s health has traditionally been approached in isolated segments rather than as a continuous journey. This platform she said seeks to offer a consistent and scientifically grounded approach to supporting women across all life stages while maintaining high standards of safety validation and long-term impact.
Blending traditional Indian botanical knowledge with modern clinical science the platform uses globally benchmarked formulation and delivery technologies. It brings together patented clinically tested bioactive ingredients along with advanced dual-release systems that support better absorption and everyday usability. The focus areas include menstrual and reproductive health hormonal changes, metabolic balance bone and joint strength, cognitive health, emotional wellbeing and healthy ageing.
The initiative also aligns with India’s broader push towards evidence-based traditional and preventive healthcare. Addressing the Second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier highlighted that balance lies at the heart of Ayurveda and that restoring this balance has become a global priority. He emphasised India’s commitment to strengthening traditional medicine through science, regulation and international collaboration.
Looking ahead the women’s wellness platform is proposed to be co-launched under the regulatory oversight of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and the Ministry of AYUSH subject to necessary approvals and regulatory processes.
Backed by Laila Nutraceuticals global research ecosystem the initiative draws strength from a team of over 150 scientists more than 20 patented ingredients cGMP-compliant manufacturing facilities and partnerships with leading wellness brands across over 25 countries. The company has also invested approximately ₹350 crore in expanding its manufacturing infrastructure reinforcing its commitment to responsible and science-backed preventive healthcare.
Unveiled on a global stage at Davos the initiative reflects growing international recognition of women’s wellness as a critical public health issue and a key driver of long-term economic and social development.
Yuthika Gokaraju emphasised that the platform is not about a single product or a one-time launch but about building a lasting wellness ecosystem that women can rely on with confidence and transparency. She also expressed gratitude for Smriti Irani’s support and acknowledged Primus Partners for helping shape the business strategy behind the initiative.
Smriti Irani’s association with the platform mirrors her long-term focus on creating durable systems rather than temporary solutions. Over the past few years at the World Economic Forum she has consistently worked towards strengthening delivery-driven frameworks that place resources and decision-making power in women’s hands. Her role in conceiving and launching the Alliance for Gender Equity & Equality at Davos in January 2024 further reflects this approach.
Her support for Laila Nutraceuticals women’s wellness initiative signals a vision of building permanent health infrastructure for Indian women designed to serve generations. By positioning women’s health as both a social priority and an economic investment, the initiative aligns with a broader goal of improving national productivity workforce participation and sustainable growth.
