The wait is finally over for fans of high-octane espionage. After a historic theatrical run that saw it cross the ₹1,000 crore mark domestically, the Aditya Dhar directorial Dhurandhar has officially landed on Netflix.

The film, which originally premiered in cinemas on December 5, 2025, arrives on the streaming giant today, January 30, 2026. Available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the digital release marks a “new chapter” for a film that redefined the scale of Indian spy cinema.

Set against the backdrop of real-world geopolitical tensions, Dhurandhar follows the journey of Hamza Ali Mazari (played by Ranveer Singh), an Indian intelligence operative who goes deep undercover in Karachi’s notorious Lyari district. His mission: to dismantle a dangerous ISI-underworld nexus responsible for orchestrating major terror attacks.

The film is lauded for its gritty realism and features a stellar ensemble cast Ranveer Singh as the brooding and layered spy, Hamza. Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait, the formidable gang leader. Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam.

R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal (a character reportedly inspired by NSA Ajit Doval). And Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal.

Before hitting your small screens, Dhurandhar rewrote the record books. It currently stands as one of the top four highest-grossing Indian films of all time, joining the elite club of Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, and KGF: Chapter 2. Globally, the film has raked in over ₹1,300 crore, thanks to its massive appeal in North America and Europe, despite being banned in GCC countries.

While the theatrical version clocked in at a massive 214 minutes (3 hours and 34 minutes), eagle-eyed viewers have noted that the Netflix version is slightly shorter, running at approximately 3 hours and 25 minutes.

Reports suggest that some dialogues specifically those involving the Baloch community which had previously sparked controversy have been muted or edited for the digital format to comply with platform standards. Despite these minor trims, director Aditya Dhar emphasized that the “OTT-style binge-watch format” of the film’s narrative makes it a perfect fit for home viewing.

The Netflix release serves as the perfect appetizer for the upcoming sequel. Fans won’t have to wait long to see the story continue; Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is already locked for a massive theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the Eid weekend.
