Her father Narendra Tripathi is a pharmacist while her mother Neelam Tripathi played a pivotal role in nurturing her values and discipline. She has an elder sister Priyanka Tiwari and a younger brother Aishwarya Tripathi who is a pilot.

Divyanka completed her schooling at Carmel Convent School Bhopal and later graduated from Sarojini Naidu Government Girls PG College Bhopal. From a young age she displayed a fearless and adventurous spirit. She trained at the Bhopal Rifle Academy won a gold medal in rifle shooting and even aspired to join the Indian Army. Before entering television Divyanka worked as an anchor at All India Radio (AIR) Bhopal earning just ₹800 her first professional income. Her journey into glamour began when she won Miss Bhopal 2003 followed by participation in Pantene Zee Teen Queen where she won the title of Miss Beautiful Skin.

In 2004 she competed in India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj making it to the top eight from the Bhopal zone and later becoming runner-up from Indore. Though she didn’t win the show the experience opened doors and strengthened her resolve. She portrayed Ishita a compassionate Tamil dentist who struggles with infertility and later becomes a devoted mother figure through marriage.
