The world of Indian cinema is buzzing with excitement following the official confirmation of a new project that sees director Priyadarshan reuniting with acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi after a gap of over 15 years. This highly anticipated collaboration is set to be a full-fledged, all-out comedy, a genre both the filmmaker and the actor have a remarkable knack for, though their last joint venture was in a very different space.

The last time Priyadarshan and Pankaj Tripathi worked together was on the 2010 action thriller, Aakrosh. In that movie, Tripathi had a role as a hitman, a serious and intense character that was very much in line with the film’s gritty theme. Over the years, Tripathi has evolved into one of the country’s most respected and versatile actors, known for his ability to seamlessly transition between intense dramatic roles and his now increasingly popular, endearing comic turns.

This upcoming, yet-untitled project promises a complete shift in tone. Priyadarshan himself has described the film as a broad, situational comedy, drawing parallels to his earlier iconic hits that defined an era of Bollywood comedy, such as Hera Pheri and Hungama. He confirmed that Tripathi will be playing the pivotal, lovable comic character—a prospect that has fans of both looking forward to the film with great eagerness.

Priyadarshan, the National Award-winning filmmaker, has openly expressed his pleasure and excitement about working with Tripathi again. He noted that Tripathi is “one of the finest actors we have today,” acknowledging the actor’s phenomenal rise and star power.

The director is currently in the process of finalizing the script, after which the casting for the two other main actors will take place.
The director’s schedule is busy, with two of his other projects—the supernatural thriller Bhooth Bangla and the action thriller Haiwaan—scheduled for release in 2026. Following the release of these two films, Priyadarshan plans to take the Pankaj Tripathi-starrer comedy on the floors, with shooting expected to commence around May 2026.

The reunion marks a significant moment for Bollywood comedy lovers, as it pairs one of the genre’s most influential directors with an actor whose comic timing is currently among the best in the industry. The combination of Priyadarshan’s signature situational humor and Tripathi’s unique delivery is expected to create a highly memorable cinematic experience.

The excitement surrounding the announcement of the reunion between Priyadarshan and Pankaj Tripathi is evident in this YouTube video discussing the confirmation of Hera Pheri 3, another highly anticipated Priyadarshan comedy. To know such latest updates, stay tuned to tellyboosters.com Thank you!
