On the occasion of his 57th birthday, Bollywood veteran Ajay Devgn has gifted fans something far more experimental than a typical blockbuster trailer. In collaboration with his creative venture, Lens Vault Studios, Devgn officially launched Happy Birthday Joshi, an innovative short film crafted using generative AI (Gen-AI).

The project marks a significant shift in Indian cinema, positioning Devgn not just as a leading man, but as a pioneer in the “tech-meets-emotion” space.

A Digital Twist on a Real-Life Mystery
The film is inspired by the intriguing history of the “Joshi Worm,” one of the earliest computer viruses that originated in India. Far from being a dry technical documentary, Happy Birthday Joshi reimagines the event through a fictional and human lens.

The story follows a small-town computer prodigy in Mumbai. Faced with a deeply personal disappointment, the protagonist turns his frustration into a bold digital act that forces the global community to remember his name. As the film’s tagline suggests: “Everyone has a breaking point, His just went global.”

Innovation Through AI
Produced by Ajay Devgn and Danish Devgn, and directed by Anshul Kumar Sharma, the film serves as a showcase for the capabilities of Prismix Studios, the in-house generative AI engine at Lens Vault.

What sets this project apart is its visual style. The poster and film utilize AI to create a unique, slightly surreal aesthetic that captures the investigative drama of the 1990s. The visuals feature:
Vintage Tech Nostalgia: A hand holding a classic eight-inch floppy disk.
Analog Clutter: Desks filled with typewriters, scattered notes, and old newspapers.

AI Performance: The film features actor Adittya Kappadia, who took on the role of an “AI actor,” bringing the character of Joshi to life through a blend of physical performance and AI-enhanced voice and visuals.

The Vision for Lens Vault Studios
During the launch, Ajay Devgn, Chairman of Lens Vault Studios, emphasized that the studio’s goal is to break traditional narrative boundaries.
“Lens Vault Studios was envisioned as a space to explore new-age storytelling formats that resonate with today’s audiences,” Devgn stated. “Happy Birthday Joshi is a reflection of that intent, where technology and emotion come together.”

Danish Devgn, Founder & CEO, echoed this sentiment, noting that AI allows the team to keep narratives “sharp and impactful” while experimenting with reality-rooted stories told through a contemporary lens.

A Birthday Tradition of Innovation
The release of Happy Birthday Joshi coincides with a busy year for the actor. While he continues to dominate the traditional box office with upcoming projects like Golmaal 5 and Drishyam 3, this AI short demonstrates his commitment to evolving with the digital age.
The film is currently available for viewing across Lens Vault Studios’ digital platforms, offering fans a 30-minute dive into a world where code and human emotion collide. To
