Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has officially addressed the widespread media speculation surrounding his acting remuneration for his highly anticipated upcoming comedy venture Welcome To The Jungle. During a grand trailer launch event held recently, media outlets questioned the action star about recent industry reports claiming that he had drastically dropped his traditional salary package to charge an advance upfront payment of only ₹1.7 crore or ₹1.8 crore while entering into a massive profit-sharing arrangement with the production house. The seasoned actor quickly laughed off the financial rumors with his signature dry humor, explicitly clarifying to the gathering that the reported numbers are entirely inaccurate. Responding directly to the queries, Akshay stated that he did not take that much and he certainly did not even receive the stated amount, effectively shutting down the viral digital gossip regarding his exact contract details.

The versatile actor further elaborated that his deep personal decision to front the multi-starrer franchise installment was entirely driven by deep emotional value and nostalgic attachments rather than commercial considerations or upfront monetary transactions. Akshay revealed that the core script and narrative structure of Welcome To The Jungle was written by the late legendary filmmaker and writer Neeraj Vora, whom he considers one of his biggest professional mentors who shaped his understanding of cinematic comedy. The actor mentioned in his media interaction that he has always credited three major directors for teaching him the art of situational comedy, naming Priyadarshan, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Neeraj Vora as the foundational pillars of his comic career. He added that Neeraj Vora along with producer Firoz Nadiadwala shared an immense contribution to this specific franchise story, noting that his personal association with Firoz dates back nearly thirty-six years to his early struggling days in the Hindi film industry.

Beyond the clarification on remuneration, the star-studded trailer launch event offered multiple exciting updates from the cast and crew about the massive scale of the upcoming cinematic comedy. Co-star Disha Patani shared her pleasant experience filming the movie, describing the extensive outdoor schedules under the direction of filmmaker Ahmed Khan as one of the most memorable and beautiful journeys of her entire career. She jokingly remarked that arriving on the movie sets felt exactly like going on a fun daily school trip where the massive ensemble cast bonded deeply and formed close personal friendships. The actress also confessed to being a massive fan of Katrina Kaif and revealed that she personally requested Akshay Kumar to secure the legal rights to recreate the iconic musical track Ucha Lamba Kad Forever for the new film, a track that the entire team frequently danced to behind the scenes.

Directed by choreographer turned filmmaker Ahmed Khan, Welcome To The Jungle marks the grand third installment of the incredibly popular Welcome franchise, which previously delivered major box office blockbusters with Welcome in 2007 and Welcome Back in 2015. Moving away from the typical urban chaos seen in the previous parts, the upcoming comedy shifts its central plotline to a wild, untamed jungle setting featuring an extraordinary ensemble cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, and Jacqueline Fernandez. While trade tracking indicates that the production unit has already secured a comfortable financial cushion by recovering over ₹120 crore through the early sale of non-theatrical secondary rights like digital streaming, satellite distribution, and audio music, the film is officially locked to hit theaters nationwide on June 26.
