Today’s episode begins with Anupama feeding Prarthana lovingly. Prarthana says she cannot eat anymore but Anupamaa gently insists that she must eat properly for the baby’s health. Ansh and Leela start rearranging the house moving tables and organizing things.
Hasmukh asks what is going on. Leela explains that they are trying to protect Prarthana, as she has come after fighting with the Kotharis. If anything goes wrong here the Kotharis will not spare them. Toshu comments that they had advised Prarthana to stay until delivery and not fight with the Kotharis. Hasmukh taunts Toshu for his insensitive thinking.
Anupama calms Leela saying everything will be fine. Leela worries because the day is considered inauspicious yet Vasundhara chose this very time for the baby shower. Anupama asks her not to overthink.
Prarthana apologizes to Leela saying everyone is troubled because of her. She explains that if she had stayed there Gautam would have forced her to sign papers and taken her baby away. Anupama assures her that they are happy she is with them and that she has done the right thing. She advises Prarthana to stay in touch with Parag and keep him updated about the baby.
Ansh promises that they will all take care of Prarthana and the baby more than their own lives. Hasmukh tells Anupama that she needs to go to Mumbai but since there is a festival tomorrow she should leave after that. Kinjal also requests her to stay. Anupama agrees to celebrate the festival together first.
Bharati serves coffee to Rajini and talks about Makar Sankranti Rajini’s first festival after marriage. Bharati suggests celebrating together with chawl but Rajini allow her Bharati ask her to join but Rajini says she has a lot of work.
Vasundhara fumes accusing Anupamaa of doing black magic claiming that everyone falls under her influence. She says Parag begged Prarthana even threatened to break ties yet Prarthana left the palace-like house and followed Anupama. Meeta adds that Anupama called Raja to Mumbai and changed him completely.
Khyati says whatever happened was destined. Vasundhara taunts Khyati for suddenly becoming self-sacrificing. Khyati replies that she is Aryan’s mother and also Prarthana’s mother she cannot see her daughter suffer.
Gautam angrily declares that Prarthana can live wherever she wants but the baby will belong to the Kothari house and he will go to any extent to get custody. He insults the Shahs and Anupamaa. Parag slaps Gautam shocking everyone.
Parag warns Gautam that while he understands a father’s anger he himself is also Prarthana’s father. He will not tolerate Prarthana being harassed. He declares that one day he will bring Prarthana and her baby back to this house and no one will be able to stop him.
Prem and Rahi’s Emotional Conversation
Elsewhere Rahi tells Prem that she does not want to talk about what happened today. Prem insists saying Vasundhara and Gautam were wrong. He questions how Prarthana could stay in that house after seeing the papers.
Rahi says Anupama also did not think practically. If she had listened to Parag and waited till delivery things would not have escalated. She adds that Parag and Gautam have responsibilities as the elder son and daughter-in-law of the family they cannot act immaturely like Raja and Pari.
Prem argues that responsibilities cannot excuse mistakes. Rahi breaks down saying she has never truly been accepted as a daughter-in-law. Prem assures her that he is always with her. She says women need the support of the entire family not just their husband.
Rahi gets emotional to prem apologies to her and to lighten the prem mood they talk about Prarthana’s baby. Rahi says she will babysit and Prem jokes that it will give them experience for parenthood. Rahi blushes. Prem shared his dream of seeing Rahi pregnant. prem admits he wants to be a father but needs to become worthy of that responsibility first. Rahi tells him he will be the best father.
Makar Sankranti Celebrations Begin
The next morning Anupama offers bhog to God. The Shah family prepares for Makar Sankranti. Leela praises the temple decorations. Anupama explains the importance of worship and festivals and announces that this time the pooja will be different.
Everyone is surprised to see flutes. Anupama explains the importance of music in culture. She asks Prarthana to ring the bell while Raja asks to ring it too since he cannot play the flute. Anupama says effort matters more than perfection.
The family plays the flute together. Anupama expresses her faith that Rahi will unite both families during the festival.
Mahi Insecurity
Prem admires the decorations done by Rahi and everyone praises her. Rahi says she may not be a perfect daughter-in-law but she is trying her best and will continue to do so. Mahi comments that she thought she would do the decorations but was busy with office work. Prerna points out that household work is a full-day job indirectly highlighting Mahi’s insecurity.
Vasundhara asks to start the Aarti. Rahi prays for peace between both families and strength for Anupama.
Both the Shahs and Kotharis prey in their homes. While playing the flute Anupamaa remembers Anuj emotionally.
Anupama distributes laddoos. Ansh asks when they will fly kites. Toshu brings a kite with his company’s branding hoping for free publicity. Anupama and Leela tease him.
Parag challenges Anupama
During kite flying Toshu feels upset but Anupama cleverly sets up a stall promoting his business making him happy.
The Kotharis arrive at the ground. Parag challenges Anupama to a kite-flying competition. The Kotharis win and Anupama gracefully celebrates Parag’s victory.
Hasmukh asks if Anupama lost deliberately. She replies that family happiness is bigger than winning or losing. Parag taunts her but Anupama congratulates him and suggests celebrating together. Eventually both families dance together sharing a rare moment of unity.
Precap : Prarthana suddenly loses her balance and falls. Anupama and everyone else are left shocked.
