Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade has found himself in a legal whirlwind after the Uttar Pradesh Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against him and 12 others. The case, filed in the Mainpuri district, involves allegations of a multi-lakh investment fraud that has reportedly left several local residents in financial distress.

The FIR was lodged on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Bhogaon Police Station following a specific order from the local court.

The Allegations
The case was initiated based on a complaint filed by Vikas Tiwari, a resident of Mohalla Mishrana. According to the complaint, the accused allegedly operated a branch of “LUCC Bank” (under the Saga Group) in the town since 2015.

The residents claim they were lured into investing their hard-earned money with promises of lucrative returns and guaranteed profits. However, the bank reportedly shut down unexpectedly in 2024, leaving investors without their principal amounts or the promised interest. When the victims approached the management for their money, they were allegedly met with threats instead of repayments.

Key Details of the Case
The police have booked the individuals under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Criminal Breach of Trust, Cheating and Fraud and Criminal Intimidation.

Alongside Shreyas Talpade, the FIR names several other high-profile individuals associated with the Saga Group, including Director Sameer Agarwal, his wife Sania Agarwal, and fund manager Sanjay Mudgil.

A Pattern of Legal Trouble?
This is not the first time the Golmaal actor’s name has surfaced in such controversies. Investigators are currently looking into whether this case is linked to similar complaints filed previously in Baghpat, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. In late 2025, a similar FIR was registered involving a credit cooperative society where investors claimed to have been cheated of over ₹5 crore.

Current Status of the Investigation
Inspector-in-Charge Pradeep Kumar Pandey stated that the investigation is in its preliminary stages. “We are verifying financial records and the flow of funds to determine the exact role of each individual named in the FIR,” he said.

While the police have launched a full-scale probe, Shreyas Talpade has yet to issue an official statement regarding these specific allegations. The actor, known for his iconic roles in films like Iqbal and Om Shanti Om, was recently seen portraying Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the film Azad Bharat.
