A Pillar of Strength for a Young Actor
Taking to social media on Saturday, February 21, 2026, Hrithik Roshan shared an emotional note reflecting on the instrumental role Baig played in his formative years. Long before his blockbuster debut in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000), a young, 18-year-old Hrithik sought guidance from Baig to prepare for the spotlight.

“My dear Baigji, I will forever be grateful to you for being the teacher I so needed at the start of my journey as an actor,” Hrithik wrote. “You helped me gain confidence over my speech and delivery… you were instrumental in shaping the actor in me.”

The actor, known for his perfectionism, credited Baig with helping him overcome intense shyness and “empowering his vulnerability” at a time when he felt lost.

The Master of Diction and Dialogue
MM Baig was a respected figure in the film industry, particularly known for his mastery of voice modulation and diction. He shared a close professional bond with Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, having worked as an assistant director on several of his films, including Kala Bazaar and Kishen Kanhaiya.

Publicist Hanif Zaveri noted that Baig worked tirelessly with Hrithik during the actor’s early years to polish his speech—a foundation that Hrithik admits he still relies on today. “I still practice the lessons to this day,” the actor added in his post.

Legacy in Cinema
Beyond his work as a mentor, MM Baig was:
A Filmmaker: He directed the 1994 film Chhoti Bahu and the unreleased Masoom Gawah.
A Father: He was the father of Baby Guddu (Shahinda Baig), one of the most famous child stars of the 1980s.

An Industry Veteran: He assisted legendary directors like J. Om Prakash and Vimal Kumar.
The film fraternity has expressed shock at the lonely circumstances of his passing. Baig had reportedly been unwell for some time and was living alone. His body was taken to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem, with initial reports suggesting a heart attack as the likely cause of death.

Hrithik concluded his tribute by extending prayers to the Baig family, signing off with a final goodbye to the man who helped a shy teenager become one of India’s biggest icons: “I will miss you. Rest in peace, my teacher.” To know such latest updates tuned tellyboosters.com Thank you!
