After a high-octane month of filming in Mumbai, Bollywood’s current favorite Kartik Aaryan has officially landed in the national capital to begin the final leg of his upcoming creature-comedy, Naagzilla. Fans in Delhi were in for a surprise this week as the actor was spotted filming at the busy Laxmi Nagar Metro Station, turning the everyday commute into a star-studded spectacle.

Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba (of Fukrey fame), the film is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026. This Delhi schedule is expected to last approximately three weeks, marking the end of principal photography for the project.

The Delhi Connection
The production team chose Delhi for its unique mix of heritage and modern urban energy. While the Mumbai schedule focused on indoor sets and controlled environments, the Delhi leg is all about real-world locations. Beyond the East Delhi metro spots, the crew is rumored to be shooting across several iconic landmarks in the city to capture the “modern-meets-mythology” vibe of the film.

“Delhi has a specific character that fits the final act of our story,” a source close to the production shared. “Kartik has been incredibly hardworking, moving straight from his previous promotions into this demanding shoot. The energy on set is electric, despite the Delhi chill.”

What We Know About ‘Naagzilla’
The film, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain, is a fresh take on the classic Indian folklore of the Ichchadhari Naag (shape-shifting serpent). Kartik plays the lead role of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, a 631-year-old serpent navigating the complexities of the modern world.

Slated for August 14, 2026, coinciding with the Naag Panchami festival and the Independence Day weekend.

The Road Ahead
Once the Delhi cameras stop rolling by the end of February, the film will move into an extensive post-production phase. Given that Naagzilla is a VFX-heavy project, the makers are reportedly starting the visual effects work simultaneously to ensure the “Naag Lok” (serpent world) looks world-class.
