The powerhouse pairing of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi has officially completed a major filming milestone in Lucknow for their upcoming feature film, Umar Qaid. After nearly a month of intensive shooting across the Uttar Pradesh capital, the production has now relocated to Bhopal to begin its next phase.

The film, directed by writer-turned-filmmaker Vinay Chhawal, has been one of the most talked-about projects in the region this winter.

Since arriving on November 30, the cast and crew have been spotted at several iconic landmarks, blending the film’s gritty narrative with Lucknow’s rich heritage. The production took advantage of the city’s unique architecture and bustling energy, filming at locations including.

The regal Mehmudabad Palace and the Hussainabad heritage zone. The narrow, vibrant lanes of Chowk, Naka Hindola, and Qaiserbagh. One of the final sequences filmed in Lucknow was a large-scale fair (mela) set up near the historic Rumi Gate and Clock Tower, featuring both lead actors.

Line-producer Gyanendra Singh confirmed that the Lucknow leg concluded on December 25, marking a successful 25-day stint in the city.

While the original plan included shooting a high-stakes jail sequence at the Barabanki prison previously seen in Gadar 2, the production team reportedly faced logistical hurdles. As a result, the crew has moved to Bhopal, where a significant portion of the film’s prison-based drama will be captured.

Sources close to the production reveal that the team will remain in the Madhya Pradesh capital until January 1, 2026, to finish the remaining high-drama scenes before heading into post-production.

Produced by Sikhya Entertainment—the Academy Award-winning banner behind The Elephant Whisperers and Pagglait—the film is a dramatic thriller that reunites Nawazuddin and Huma years after their breakout chemistry in Gangs of Wasseypur.

As the shoot moves toward its final days in Bhopal, Umar Qaid is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2026, promising a raw and compelling cinematic experience. To know such latest updates, stay tuned to tellyboosters.com Thank you!
