Prime Video marked a major milestone as it celebrated six years of the beloved series Panchayat originally launched on April 3 2020. To commemorate the occasion the platform officially announced the commencement of filming for the much-awaited Season 5.
Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF) the upcoming season is created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar with Chandan Kumar also serving as the writer and Deepak Kumar Mishra as the director.
Since its debut Panchayat has grown into one of India’s most loved web series winning hearts across multiple seasons. Season 4 in particular achieved record-breaking success delivering the highest opening in the franchise’s history during its launch week. On its premiere day, the show trended among the Top 10 titles in over 42 countries including the USA, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and the UAE. Within its first week it reached viewers across 95% of India’s pin codes and in more than 180 countries worldwide.
The previous season ended on a gripping note, leaving fans eagerly awaiting what lies ahead. With Sachiv Ji contemplating his next move after his CAT results Manju Devi dealing with the sting of electoral defeat and Pradhan Ji shaken by the outcome Season 5 promises to pick up right from this intense moment.
