Following the massive success of his recent films, Ranveer Singh is all set to dive into two of his most anticipated projects in 2026. The actor’s upcoming schedule is clearly packed, with his focus first going to the Don franchise, and then immediately moving to a brand new, highly ambitious genre film.

The initial project is Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, which is a high-octane action thriller expected to begin filming early in 2026. This shoot will occupy Ranveer’s first few months of the year. Once he wraps up his commitments for the iconic franchise reboot, he will immediately transition to the highly-talked-about post-apocalyptic film, Pralay.

Reports suggest that the principal photography for Pralay is tentatively scheduled to begin around mid-2026, likely starting in July or August. This delayed timeline, set after the completion of Don 3, is being seen as a benefit, allowing the filmmakers ample time for the extensive pre-production required for a world-building film of this scale. The director, Jai Mehta—known for his acclaimed work as a co-director on the web series Scam 1992—will make his feature film directorial debut with this project.

The film is being described as an ambitious post-apocalyptic zombie thriller, a genre that remains largely unexplored in mainstream Indian cinema since the cult-hit Go Goa Gone. Sources indicate that the narrative will follow a protagonist’s intense fight for survival, using the zombie outbreak as a backdrop to explore deeper themes of social, emotional, and moral collapse in a dystopian society.

The production team has massive plans for the look and feel of the movie. Pralay is expected to reimagine Mumbai in a dark, devastated, and dystopian setting, drawing comparisons to the world-building seen in successful Hollywood franchises like The Hunger Games.

The plan involves a combination of shooting on location and using significant digital effects to create an abandoned, decaying city. Large sections of the metropolitan area will be digitally “aged” to convey the sense of a world that has ended.

With this dual-project schedule, Ranveer Singh is cementing his status as an actor willing to take on varied and challenging roles, moving from the slick action of Don 3 to the gritty, world-ending survival drama of Pralay. To know such latest updates, stay tuned to tellyboosters.com Thank you!
