Surbhi Chandna was born on 11 September 1989 in Mumbai Maharashtra into a Punjabi family with a strong emphasis on education and independence. From a young age she showed interest in performing arts actively participating in school plays , dance competitions and cultural events.

Academically inclined Surbhi pursued higher education and completed her MBA from Atharva Institute of Management Studies Mumbai. Before committing fully to acting she even explored the corporate world briefly

Acting Journey

Surbhi’s entry into the entertainment industry was gradual. She began with commercial advertisements and modelling assignments gaining camera confidence and industry exposure. In 2009 she made her television debut with a cameo role as Sweety in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah India’s longest-running sitcom.

After a brief break she returned to television with smaller yet noticeable appearances including Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi – Meri Bhabhi. These early roles though limited in screen time helped her understand the emotional demands of television acting.

Surbhi’s first major recognition came with Qubool Hai (2014–2015) where she portrayed Haya Qureshi a deaf and mute woman. Her performance stood out for its realism and dignity earning her critical appreciation and marking her as a performer capable of handling complex characters. This role became a turning point opening doors to stronger and more layered opportunities.

Television Breakthrough

The defining chapter of Surbhi Chandna’s career arrived in 2016 with Ishqbaaaz on Star Plus where she played Anika Trivedi Singh Oberoi opposite Nakuul Mehta. Anika’s bold personality, emotional honesty, and fearless attitude instantly connected with audiences.

The show became a massive success and Surbhi emerged as one of the most loved faces on Indian television. In 2020 she took a dramatic leap by headlining Naagin 5 as Bani Sharma Singhania a shape-shifting serpent with emotional complexity. Surbhi delivered role demand effortlessly.

Her performance earned her a second ITA Award for Best Actress – Popular reaffirming her position as one of television’s top female leads.

Recent Work

In 2022 Surbhi explored new formats by stepping in as a host on Hunarbaaz – Desh Ki Shaan revealing her confidence and engaging on-screen presence beyond fiction.

From 2022 to 2023 she played Manmeet Shergill Yadav a single mother in Sherdil Shergill a role appreciated for its emotional realism and maturity.

In 2024 Surbhi made her web series debut with Rakshak – India’s Braves: Chapter 2 where she portrayed Alka Singh an army officer’s wife. Though her screen time was limited her performance was noted for its sincerity marking a promising step into digital storytelling.

Personal Life

Surbhi Chandna’s love story is simple and deeply real. She met entrepreneur Karan Sharma in 2010 in Mumbai and what began as a friendship gradually turned into love. Over the years they faced long-distance phases, career pressures, and personal challenge yet their bond only grew stronger. Without any grand drama their relationship was built on trust patience and mutual understanding. After nearly 13 years of togetherness they married on 2 March 2024 in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony in Jaipur turning a long journey of companionship into a lasting partnership based on respect and support.

She often speaks about emotional stability, loyalty and personal growth valuing long-term commitment over public display. The family remains her strongest support system with her sister Pranavi Chandna also professionally managing her career.
