Vikrant Massey “Nervous” Ahead of Biopic ‘White’ Screening for Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Following his massive success with 12th Fail, actor Vikrant Massey is preparing for what he calls the most “challenging and daunting” role of his career. The actor is set to portray spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in an upcoming international thriller titled White.

In a recent candid interaction, Massey opened up about the immense pressure of playing a living legend. While actors often worry about critics or the box office, Massey revealed that his primary anxiety stems from a much more personal audience of one.

Massey confirmed that the very first person to watch the completed film will be Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar himself. “The first person to watch the movie will be him. I’m nervous thinking about what he will say about the film,” Massey admitted. He mentioned that while he has shared a few clips with the spiritual leader during production, the reactions were minimal. “I have shown him some clippings and he said nothing… so it’s all good so far,” he added with a hint of cautious optimism.

The role of the Art of Living founder required more than just an emotional connection; it demanded a grueling physical transformation.

Massey shared details of the intense daily routine on set. The actor spent between 5 to 5.5 hours every morning just to achieve the spiritual leader’s look. Following the makeup session, Massey would often shoot for over 10 hours, making for 15-hour workdays. Beyond the physical, Massey spent significant time at the Bengaluru ashram to observe Gurudev’s mannerisms and “blueprint-less” personality.

“Because of him, I’ve been able to bring a little stability (thehraav) into my life, and that has had a personal impact on me,” Massey shared, reflecting on how the role helped him find a sense of inner calm.

Directed by Montoo Bassi and produced by Siddharth Anand and Mahaveer Jain, White is not a traditional cradle-to-grave biopic. Instead, the film is positioned as a global thriller focusing on a specific, high-stakes chapter of history: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s pivotal role in mediating and resolving the 52-year-long civil war in Colombia.

The film aims to highlight how Indian values of non-violence and ancient wisdom contributed to modern-day peace-building on an international stage. Shot largely in Colombo with a crew that includes talent from the hit series Narcos, the project is being mounted on a massive scale for a global audience.
As the release date approaches in 2026, Massey remains hopeful that his “sincere attempt” to portray the living legend will resonate with both the spiritual leader and the public. To know such latest updates tuned to tellyboosters.com Thank you!
