Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has made a heartfelt public appeal to climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk, urging him to end his ongoing hunger strike and offering to personally send him home-cooked food. The social activist had been on an indefinite fast in support of student demonstrations spearheaded by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) demanding institutional reforms and strict action over examination paper leak controversies. Addressing Wangchuk directly on his social media handle, Salman expressed deep concern for his health, writing, “Sonam, it’s done, bro. Don’t extend this. Keep the spirit for another day if there be a need, which I doubt, n eat something. If u want, will send u food from home”. The actor reassured the activist and the public that the government is taking decisive steps to address student grievances, pointing out recent official statements ensuring strict action against culprits, including plans for fast-track courts.
In the same message, Salman extended a warm and protective plea to the young student protesters across the country, advising them to wrap up their demonstrations and return safely to their families. Emphasizing that students are the top priority educationally and security-wise, he asked them not to worry or cause distress to their parents. Praising the youth for their courage, sincerity, and peaceful commitment to building a better educational system, the actor noted that their voices had successfully brought nationwide focus to critical exam integrity issues. He further cautioned against letting the movement be hijacked politically, stressing that the credit for this awakening belongs solely to the students. With Wangchuk continuing his fast under medical supervision while seeking formal assurances regarding student safety, Salman’s compassionate intervention has added a prominent voice of care and calm to the national dialogue.
