Popular playback singer and Bigg Boss Telugu 3 winner Rahul Sipligunj has landed in legal trouble after being named in a First Information Report alongside eleven other individuals in Visakhapatnam. The criminal case was registered following a formal complaint filed by a local woman who accused the Oscar-winning Naatu Naatu singer and his associates of intimidation, cheating, and criminal harassment in connection with a marriage dispute. According to police reports, the woman alleged that Rahul Sipligunj’s brother-in-law, Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, introduced himself to her under the pretext of marriage and subsequently deceived her. When she demanded a commitment from him, he allegedly escalated the conflict by threatening to leak her private photographs and personal videos online, causing severe distress to her personal honor and family life.
The complainant further alleged that singer Rahul Sipligunj actively intervened in the ongoing dispute to support his relative, using high-handed tactics and issuing direct threats to pressure her into silence. She claimed that Sipligunj subjected her to intense harassment and forced her to record specific video statements under duress, though the exact contents of those recordings remain undisclosed. Law enforcement officials initially registered the case at the MVP Colony Police Station in Visakhapatnam under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act covering blackmail, cyber harassment, and criminal intimidation. Due to the sensitive nature of the cyber-related harassment allegations, authorities subsequently transferred the case file to the Endada Women Police Station for a comprehensive investigation.
