Actor Suvinder Vicky, who is gearing up for the release of the upcoming action drama Awarapan 2, has opened up about his experience stepping into the iconic franchise and sharing screen space with legendary actor Shabana Azmi. Arriving nearly two decades after the original 2007 cult classic, the sequel carries significant expectations, and Suvinder admitted feeling both curious and anxious when he first encountered Shabana Azmi on set. Recalling their initial meeting, the actor shared that the veteran star possessed an extraordinary radiance and grace that left him completely awe-struck, describing her presence as standing in front of an angel who had descended from heaven. He added that her undeniable charm and glowing countenance made her look like an eighteen-year-old girl, making it a truly memorable experience to work alongside a powerhouse performer who has left a lasting mark across parallel cinema, commercial films, and theater.
Elaborating on his decision to join the project, Suvinder explained that the script immediately drawn him in because he was actively seeking a role rich in emotional depth and dramatic intensity. The opportunity to venture into mainstream commercial cinema backed by producer Mukesh Bhatt and starring Emraan Hashmi alongside Shabana Azmi made the project instantly appealing. Describing the working dynamic on set, Suvinder praised Shabana Azmi for being extremely supportive and down-to-earth, noting that she maintained a relaxed atmosphere even when co-actors occasionally forgot dialogue. He also highlighted the overall warm and collaborative environment fostered by director Nitin Kakkar and the crew, which allowed the actors to bond quickly and deliver their best efforts toward continuing the legacy of the original film. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, Awarapan 2 is set to hit theaters nationwide on August 14.
