Oscar-winning playback singer and Bigg Boss Telugu 3 winner Rahul Sipligunj has finally broken his silence after being named in a First Information Report (FIR) lodged by a woman in Visakhapatnam. The legal controversy hit headlines recently when a 25-year-old woman filed a police complaint at the MVP Police Station in Vizag, alleging harassment, blackmail, and criminal intimidation against a group of individuals. The primary accused in the complaint was identified as Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, while Rahul Sipligunj, his wife Harinya Reddy, and several others were also listed among the accused. Following the widespread media coverage and intense online speculation suggesting that the famous singer was evading authorities or turning off his phone, Rahul Sipligunj addressed the situation directly to clarify his exact connection to the main accused and reveal what actually led to his name being dragged into the FIR.
Explaining his personal connection to the primary accused, Rahul Sipligunj revealed that Karpurapu Rahul Reddy is a relative of his wife, Harinya Reddy. The singer shared that the main accused and the complainant were previously in a relationship that ran into serious personal issues due to ego clashes between the two individuals. According to Rahul Sipligunj, the couple had actually reached an amicable compromise prior to the public fallout, and his wife had even received video proof showing the two together peacefully in July. He addressed allegations that he had pressured or threatened the woman, firmly stating that he never attempted to intimidate anyone and has remained fully cooperative with law enforcement officials since the matter came to light. He emphasized that anyone can file a complaint at a police station and that authorities inherently register an FIR upon receiving a woman’s grievance, but being named in a complaint does not automatically mean guilt.
Addressing what led to his inclusion in the legal complaint, the Naatu Naatu crooner pointed fingers at an advocate involved in the case. Rahul Sipligunj claimed that during his recent direct conversation with the victim after the news broke, she revealed that the lawyer who initially represented both parties had provoked her into adding multiple names to the complaint, including his own. He further alleged that the same lawyer leaked the FIR details to the media to create sensationalism, even after the victim and the main accused had reached an understanding. While police officials in Visakhapatnam have transferred the case to the Women’s Police Station for a thorough investigation into all allegations, Rahul Sipligunj maintained that he is completely clean and remains answerable only to the law and the victim as the truth unfolds through official channels.
