Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar for his selfless humanitarian efforts toward supporting distressed farmers and preventing farmer suicides. Speaking at a special event held in Lucknow for the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Police’s official song “Khaki Ka Sitara” and a cyber-security awareness short film, the Chief Minister shared touching insights into the actor’s quiet social work. He revealed that during a severe agrarian crisis in Maharashtra, when farmer suicides were rising at an alarming rate, Nana Patekar stepped up to extend vital financial and emotional assistance to affected rural families completely out of the spotlight.
Recalling an earlier personal encounter, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed how deeply surprised and impressed he was when the National Award-winning actor came to meet him regarding welfare efforts. The Chief Minister highlighted that despite being a legendary figure in Indian cinema, Nana Patekar carried out his relief operations quietly without seeking media attention, public praise, or promotional fanfare. He emphasized that the actor is not merely a talented artist on screen, but also a deeply compassionate and grounded human being who felt genuine empathy for the struggles of agricultural workers.

Scripted by IPS officer Rahul Srivastav and directed by filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa, the short film aims to protect innocent citizens from sophisticated online frauds.
The event also celebrated renowned singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan, who lent his soulful voice to “Khaki Ka Sitara,” giving the state police force’s anthem a renewed sense of pride and inspiration.
