Kannada superstar Yash has responded to the ongoing online debate surrounding the romantic and intimate sequences featured in the promotional material of his upcoming action-drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. During a recent appearance on the popular television talk show Aap Ki Adalat, the actor expressed surprise over audience criticism regarding alleged vulgarity in the film, clarifying his stance on onscreen intimacy. Yash pointed out that vulgarity is fundamentally wrong, but emphasized that the makers have maintained artistic boundaries, noting with a lighthearted remark that he hasn’t even shared a proper onscreen kiss in the movie. He explained that filmmakers are well aware of acceptable limits and that intimate sequences were shot in an aesthetic manner to serve the narrative, highlighting that the strong visual impact felt by viewers reflects the true power of cinema and a director’s creative voice.
Addressing wider discussions about the youth and modern storytelling, Yash defended Gen Z against constant criticism from older generations who often feel that younger audiences have strayed. He asserted that every generation experiences friction with the one before it, but the future ultimately belongs to the youth who should be free to express themselves. The actor revealed that Toxic has been specifically crafted for Gen Z audiences, diving directly into the intergenerational conversations, questions, and frustrations young people face regarding rigid societal norms and fixed rules.
