The recently released devotional feature Hanuman Ansh has been creating significant buzz, but behind its cinematic journey lies an inspiring real-life story of dedication and faith. Producer Anupriya Nagar recently revealed the personal and financial risks she took to bring the project to light.
The twenty-one-year-old producer shared that she joined the project quite late, entering the scene specifically when the movie was already moving through its post-production phase. At that crucial stage, the existing team faced a severe lack of funds to complete the final editing, sound design, and technical polish required to prepare the movie for theaters.
Driven by a deep personal connection and unconditional belief in the story of Neem Karoli Baba, Anupriya made the bold choice to step forward and invest every bit of her personal savings—money she had earned from part-time jobs while studying in the UK—directly into finishing the project.
Her decision to step into film production was completely unplanned and came straight from the heart. Having completed her economics degree at the University of Bath and preparing for a career abroad, she decided to put her future plans on hold to back the movie.
When she met the team during post-production and learned that the project was stalled due to financial constraints, she felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility to help get the sacred narrative completed. Anupriya clarified that she did not produce the entire film single-handedly but contributed one-third of the total budget to cover the critical post-production phase.
Despite initial concerns from her family about stepping into an unpredictable industry without prior filmmaking experience, her passion and belief eventually won them over.
What began as a risky financial leap during post-production has ultimately turned into a massive success story. While Hanuman Ansh saw a humble start at the box office, strong word-of-mouth and emotional audience engagement propelled the movie into a huge hit, allowing the team to fully recover their investments.
Reflecting on this remarkable turnaround, Anupriya credited the success to divine blessings and the audience’s genuine love for the subject matter rather than standard commercial motives. Her courage to put all her savings into a struggling post-production stage has not only saved the project but has also established her as one of the youngest and most courageous producers in contemporary cinema.
