In a powerful tribute to the guardians of our seas, the cast and crew of the upcoming film Border 2 visited the Karwar Naval Base yesterday. The event, which felt more like a heartfelt gathering than a promotional tour, was headlined by soul-stirring live performances by legendary singer Sonu Nigam and contemporary sensation Vishal Mishra.

The Karwar Naval Base, one of the most strategic installations on India’s western coast, served as a majestic backdrop for the afternoon. Dressed in civilian attire but carrying an energy that matched the discipline of the surroundings, the Border 2 team—including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty—spent the day interacting with Naval officers and their families.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the musical showcase. Sonu Nigam, whose voice has been synonymous with Indian patriotism since the 1997 original, took to the stage to perform a live rendition of the newly released track, “Ghar Kab Aaoge.”

The song is a reimagined version of the iconic “Sandese Aate Hain,” and as Sonu hit the high notes, many in the audience were seen visibly moved.

“Performing for the men and women who keep our borders safe is always an emotional experience,” said Sonu Nigam during the event. “To sing these lyrics here, at a naval base, gives the words a whole new meaning.”

Joining him was Vishal Mishra, who has quickly become a fan favorite for his deep, emotive vocals. Mishra’s performance added a modern touch to the nostalgic atmosphere, proving that the spirit of the Border franchise transcends generations.

While the original Border focused on the Battle of Longewala and the Indian Army, the sequel appears to be broadening its scope to celebrate all wings of the Armed Forces. Lead actor Sunny Deol addressed the gathering, expressing his deep-rooted respect for the Navy.

“We often talk about the borders on land, but our sea borders are just as vital and just as dangerous,” Deol remarked. “Being here today at Karwar is our way of saying thank you to the ‘Silent Service’ for their unwavering vigil.”

Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty also spent time touring the facility, learning about the life of a sailor and the technical prowess of the Indian Navy’s fleet.

The event at Karwar is part of a massive nationwide campaign leading up to the film’s theatrical release on January 23, 2026. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year.
