Anees Bazmee Reveals Why ‘No Entry 2’ Was Put on the Backburner Despite Ready Script

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has finally addressed the long-standing mystery surrounding the delay of No Entry 2. In a recent interview, the veteran director revealed that while the project was incredibly close to starting, “eleventh-hour” complications forced it onto the backburner.

Bazmee, known for delivering massive comedy hits like Welcome and Ready, shared that the team had put immense effort into the sequel’s screenplay. According to the director, the script was widely praised by those who read it.
“We worked very hard for the No Entry sequel. We wrote a very beautiful story for that film,” Bazmee stated. “Whoever has heard its script has told me, ‘Yeh bahut khoobsurat picture hai. Banni chahiye”.

Despite the excitement and completed pre-production work—which reportedly included location scouting in Greece—the project hit a major roadblock just as it was about to roll.
The director hinted that the delay was primarily due to logistical issues and actor availability rather than creative differences. “Last time, we were all set to begin the shoot. All preparations were done. But there was some problem at the eleventh hour. I guess every film has its destiny,” he explained.

Reports from late 2025 suggested that the new ensemble cast—intended to feature Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Arjun Kapoor—faced scheduling conflicts, particularly after Dosanjh’s exit from the project.

Bazmee also clarified that the hiatus between his recent projects was largely due to his dedication to No Entry 2. He explained that planning a film with such a massive star cast and multiple characters (rumored to involve triple roles) takes a significant amount of time.

“The reason there has been a gap after the release of my last film is because I was working on No Entry 2. It has a huge star cast, and as a result, planning took a lot of time,” the director added.

While No Entry 2 remains a passion project for both Bazmee and producer Boney Kapoor, the director is not sitting idle. He is moving forward with a new untitled comedy venture starting today, January 20, 2026.

Bazmee remains optimistic about the future of the No Entry sequel, promising fans that he would love to return to it once his current commitments are fulfilled. To know such latest updates tuned to tellyboosters.com Thank you!
