Produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the project is already generating significant buzz as it marks Saif Ali Khan’s return to the police uniform on the digital screen nearly eight years after his path-breaking performance in Sacred Games.
Directed by Pulkit, who previously earned accolades for the crime thriller Bhakshak, Kartavya is set in the Indian heartland. The narrative follows Pawan Malik (played by Khan), a police officer caught in a grueling battle between his professional responsibilities and his personal morals.
The film is described as a “morally layered” drama that explores what happens when a man’s duty to the law begins to threaten the safety of his own family. According to the makers, the story delves into the complex intersections of truth, justice, and the heavy price of doing the right thing.
