In a major casting shake-up for India’s most anticipated cinematic event, actor and dancer Raghav Juyal has officially joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus, Ramayana. Juyal is set to step into the role of Meghanad (also known as Indrajit), the formidable crown prince of Lanka and eldest son of Ravana.

According to latest industry reports, the role was initially intended for 12th Fail star Vikrant Massey. However, due to scheduling conflicts and shifting production timelines, the makers and Massey were unable to reach an agreement. Raghav Juyal, fresh off the massive success of projects like Kill and the critically acclaimed The Ba*ds of Bollywood, was quickly approached and has since signed on for the high-stakes role.

A Powerful Warrior for Part 2
While the first installment of the two-part epic is scheduled to hit theaters this Diwali 2026, audiences will have to wait a bit longer to see Raghav in action. His character, Meghanad, is expected to take center stage in Ramayana: Part 2, which is currently slated for a Diwali 2027 release.

In the original epic, Meghanad is celebrated as one of the mightiest warriors to ever exist. Known for his mastery of illusion and his ability to wage war from behind the clouds, he remains the only warrior to have ever defeated both Lord Rama and Lakshman in battle.

The Massive Ensemble Cast
Raghav joins an elite list of actors in what is being billed as the most expensive Indian film ever made. The production, led by Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Arun Govil as King Dashrath and Raghav Juyal as Meghanad (Indrajit).

Recovery and Future Projects
Currently, Raghav is recovering from a leg injury sustained during a high-octane stunt sequence on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan’s King in mid-2025. Reports suggest he will begin filming his portions for Ramayana once he is fully fit.
Beyond the mythological battlefield, 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for the actor. He is also set to make his Telugu debut alongside Nani in the pan-world film The Paradise, scheduled for release on March 26, 2026.

The makers of Ramayana are reportedly planning a grand reveal of the primary characters’ looks on Ram Navami (March 27, 2026) at a large-scale event in Mumbai. To know such latest updates tuned tellyboosters.com Thank you!
