In a move that highlights his commitment to both family and profession, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has officially shifted the filming schedule of his upcoming magnum opus, Battle of Galwan, from Film City to the historic Mehboob Studios in Bandra. The decision comes in the wake of his father, legendary screenwriter Salim Khan, being admitted to a nearby medical facility.

A Balancing Act of Duty and Care
The 90-year-old veteran writer was hospitalized on February 17 following a medical emergency involving a minor brain hemorrhage. While hospital sources confirm that Salim Khan is currently stable and showing signs of recovery after a brief period on a ventilator, the family remains on high alert.

To bridge the gap between his demanding work schedule and his father’s bedside, Salman Khan requested the production team to relocate the ongoing shoot. By moving the set to Mehboob Studios, the actor is now just a few minutes away from Lilavati Hospital, allowing him to monitor his father’s health during breaks and reach the facility instantly if required.

No Delays for ‘Battle of Galwan’
Despite the personal crisis, the Tiger star is reportedly adamant that the film’s production remains on track. The crew is currently filming an elaborate, high-energy song sequence that requires a large team of dancers and technical staff.

“Salman didn’t want the schedule to suffer, especially with a large crew involved,” a source close to the production shared. “But being available for his father was equally non-negotiable. Shifting to Mehboob Studio provided the perfect logistical solution to manage both priorities.”

About the Film
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is a patriotic tribute to the Indian Armed Forces. The film is based on the real-life events of the June 2020 border clash. Salman Khan takes on the role of the late Colonel B. Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra.

The film also features Chitrangda Singh in a leading role. Supporting Cast includes Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, and Abhilash Chaudhary.

While originally slated for an April 17 release, there is industry speculation that the date might shift to the Independence Day weekend in August to allow for a more polished final edit.

Industry Support
The news of Salim Khan’s hospitalization has seen a wave of support from the film fraternity. Long-time collaborator Javed Akhtar and other family members have been spotted at the hospital. Fans across the globe have taken to social media to send prayers for the recovery of the man who co-wrote some of Indian cinema’s most iconic hits like Sholay and Deewaar.
