The “Arjun Rampal renaissance” is officially in full swing. Following a string of intense performances—most notably as Major Iqbal in the box-office juggernaut Dhurandhar—Rampal has signed on to play the titular lead in Billionaire, a new original series from Amazon MX Player.
The project, which was unveiled at the “Connected Worlds” event in Mumbai, marks a massive collaboration between Rampal and two of the most respected names in Indian grit-and-drama filmmaking: Hansal Mehta (Scam 1992) and Robbie Grewal.

Billionaire is described as a character-driven chronicle of a powerful business magnate navigating the complexities of a rapidly evolving India. Rather than a simple success story, the series aims to explore the darker side of the “Indian Dream”—the influence, the rule-breaking, and the psychological cost of building an empire.
“Playing a role like this is definitely not something that comes your way every day,” Rampal said during the announcement. “When it does, you grab it with both hands, feet, and whatever you’ve got. I am soaking into the world and getting to know the character better.”
