The Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe is expanding once again, and it just got a lot more intense. National Award-nominated actor Viineet Kumar Singh, known for his powerful performances in Mukkabaaz and Superboys of Malegaon, has officially joined the cast of the upcoming film Shakti Shalini.

While many fans were curious about who would face off against the film’s lead, the mystery is finally over. Singh has been roped in to play the primary antagonist, a role described by his team as a “darker and grittier” departure from his previous work.

A New Kind of Villain
Viineet Kumar Singh has built a reputation for playing grounded, heroic, or complex characters. However, Shakti Shalini marks a significant pivot. According to sources close to the production, his character is designed to be a psychological and physical force that will challenge the protagonists in ways the franchise hasn’t seen before.

“This is going to be something very different for Viineet,” his team shared in a recent statement. “He is diving into a much darker space here, playing an antagonist that is both menacing and layered.”

The Expanding Horror Universe
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar—the filmmaker behind the recent hit Munjya—Shakti Shalini serves as the sixth installment in Dinesh Vijan’s successful horror-comedy timeline. It follows in the footsteps of beloved films like Stree, Bhediya, and the recently teased Thamma.

The film stars Aneet Padda in the titular role, fresh off the massive success of her previous projects. She is joined by Vishal Jethwa, reuniting the two actors after their well-received chemistry in Salaam Venky. Industry insiders suggest that the trio of Padda, Jethwa, and Singh will bring a “heavyweight” feel to the supernatural story, balancing the franchise’s signature humor with high-stakes drama.

Production Timeline
The shoot is already underway. Singh recently completed a week-long schedule in Mumbai before taking a short break to wrap up filming for Dahaad 2. The production is expected to move to Madhya Pradesh soon, with Singh slated to rejoin the crew in May to finish his remaining portions.

Release Date Rumors
While fans are eager to see this showdown on the big screen, there is some talk regarding the film’s release strategy. Originally aimed for a December 2024–2025 window, rumors suggest the makers might shift the date to avoid a box-office clash with major superstars. However, no official confirmation on a new date has been released. To
