Following the historic box-office success of their 2025 musical drama Saiyaara, director Mohit Suri and the breakout “Gen-Z” pairing of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are officially reuniting for a second project. Reports from April 2026 suggest that the upcoming Yash Raj Films (YRF) production is tentatively titled Satranga.

The announcement comes less than a year after Saiyaara redefined the romantic genre in Indian cinema. Released in July 2025, the film earned over ₹580 crore worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing romantic musical in Bollywood history. The film’s success turned Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into overnight sensations, with fans affectionately dubbing the duo “Ahaneet.”

Mohit Suri, known for his mastery of intense, music-driven narratives like Aashiqui 2, is returning to helm this new story. In a recent statement, Suri expressed his excitement about returning to the genre that defines him.

“For me, love stories have always been the strongest kind of stories—when emotions run so deep and all-consuming that they become impossible to ignore. Working with the Saiyaara team again feels like coming home, but with a fresh creative hunger.”

While YRF has officially confirmed the collaboration, the title Satranga is currently considered the primary working title. The name, which translates to “seven-colored,” is reportedly a nod to the layered and “twisted” nature of the new script.

Unlike the more traditional romance of their first outing, industry insiders suggest that this project will explore a more vulnerable and unconventional side of modern relationships. The film is being developed as a standalone story, further cementing Mohit Suri’s transition away from sequels to original, high-stakes romantic dramas.

Yash Raj Films is placing significant trust in the trio. YRF CEO Akshaye Widhwani noted that the goal for this second collaboration is to create something “more honest, more vulnerable, and more enduring.”

The film joins a restructured and highly anticipated YRF slate. While Ahaan Panday is currently busy with an action-romance directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and Aneet Padda is filming for the Maddock Supernatural Universe’s Shakti Shalini, both actors are expected to clear their schedules for Suri by the end of 2026.

As with their previous hit, the music for Satranga is expected to play a pivotal role. Given Suri’s track record for chart-busting soundtracks, expectations are high for a score that matches the emotional intensity of the screenplay. Shooting is scheduled to begin in the final quarter of 2026, aiming for a worldwide theatrical release in 2027. To know such latest updates tuned tellyboosters.com Thank you
