Following the massive box-office success of their first collaboration, Saiyaara, actor Ahaan Panday and filmmaker Mohit Suri are officially coming back together for another project. The duo, who delivered one of 2025’s biggest hits, will be working on a new romantic drama backed by Yash Raj Films (YRF).
The news comes at a time when Ahaan Panday’s career is on a steep upward trajectory. His debut in Saiyaara where he played a struggling musician—endeared him to audiences and critics alike, earning the film nearly ₹580 crore worldwide. While fans were expecting the actor to move into different genres, the decision to return to a romantic setting was reportedly a strategic move suggested by producer Aditya Chopra.
According to industry sources, the upcoming project was initially envisioned quite differently. Mohit Suri had completed a script for a romantic comedy featuring an age-gap relationship and had been looking for a veteran actor for the lead role. However, after discussions with YRF, the script is now being reworked specifically to suit Ahaan Panday’s strengths.
Insiders suggest that because Ahaan is currently filming a high-octane action-romance with director Ali Abbas Zafar—where he plays a gritty gangster—Aditya Chopra felt it was the perfect time to lock in a “pure romance” as his follow-up. The goal is to balance Ahaan’s filmography by bringing back the soft, musical romantic persona that the public loved in his debut.
While the lead actress has yet to be finalized, the buzz surrounding the casting is already high. Suri is known for his ability to launch or redefine careers through intense, music-heavy love stories, and expectations are no different for this untitled venture.
Mohit Suri is currently in the final stages of fine-tuning the screenplay to align with Ahaan’s screen presence. The film is expected to go on floors by the end of 2026, once Ahaan wraps up his current commitments.
The young actor is currently one of the busiest fresh faces in Bollywood. Apart from this new collaboration with Suri, Ahaan is deep in the schedule of Ali Abbas Zafar’s next, which features an ensemble cast including Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Jimmy Shergill.
With a gangster drama on the way and a reunion with his mentor Mohit Suri now confirmed, Ahaan Panday seems to be carving out a versatile path, moving fluidly between intense action and the soulful romance that first made him a household name. To know
