Bandar Box Office Collection Day 7 Anurag Kashyap Film With Bobby Deol Continues To Struggle Collects Only 25 Lakh

The dark crime and legal drama film Bandar has completed its first full week in cinema halls, but its commercial journey remains deeply concerning for investors. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and starring actor Bobby Deol in a highly intense role, the movie has received strong appreciation from film critics and specialized film reviewers for its bold storytelling. However, this positive word of mouth from the industry has completely failed to create any visible growth or momentum at the domestic box office. According to the latest trade statistics provided by industry tracking platform Sacnilk, the film continued its downward trend on its seventh day, which was Thursday, managing to pull in a very low sum of just about twenty-five lakh rupees across hundreds of daily screenings nationwide.

The box office trajectory of the film clearly illustrates how modern, content-heavy cinema struggles to retain audiences during weekdays without massive commercial mass appeal. Bandar began its theatrical journey on a quiet note last Friday, registering an opening day net collection of fifty lakh rupees. Thanks to initial weekend interest, the ticket sales showed a decent jump, bringing in ninety-five lakh rupees on Saturday and reaching its highest single-day peak of one crore rupees on Sunday. Unfortunately, the arrival of the regular workweek brought an immediate and sharp crash in daily occupancy, with the movie collecting around forty-five lakh rupees each on Monday and Tuesday before experiencing a sharper hit on Wednesday and Thursday. This constant drop has brought the total seven-day domestic net collection of the film to an estimated three crore and sixty-five lakh rupees.

A major reason behind this ongoing theatrical struggle is the heavy lack of available screen space and a highly congested box office environment. Bandar is currently forced to share multiplexes and single-screen properties with a couple of massive commercial blockbusters that are dominating public attention. It is facing a direct, tough competition from the romance-driven Bollywood project Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona and the grand action entertainer Peddi, alongside several big international Hollywood movies that have taken up the majority of the premium evening shows. Trade insiders revealed that even before the official release date arrived, the production team of the film faced an incredibly difficult time bargaining with major multiplex chains to secure decent show timings, a problem that naturally worsened as the weekday ticket sales started crashing.

The core plot of Bandar revolves around a highly sensitive and dark modern theme, tracing the sudden downfall of a fading singer-actor named Samar, played with immense emotional vulnerability by Bobby Deol. His ordinary professional life takes a nightmarish turn when a woman named Gayatri, portrayed by Sapna Pabbi, files a serious police complaint accusing him of rape. While the main character continuously maintains that the relationship was built on mutual consent, he finds himself trapped inside a high-profile media trial and a complicated legal battlefield. Alongside Bobby Deol, the film features an impressive ensemble cast including Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, Raj B. Shetty, and Indrajith Sukumaran, turning the narrative into a realistic study of public perception, accountability, and the flaws within the modern justice system.
