The latest collaboration between superstar Akshay Kumar and veteran director Priyadarshan continues its successful run at the box office. After an impressive second weekend, Bhooth Bangla has officially crossed the ₹117 crore mark in India. However, the film saw a noticeable decline in ticket sales on its second Monday, a common trend for movies entering the workweek.

Released on April 17, the horror-comedy has breathed new life into Akshay Kumar’s theatrical run, marking his 20th film to enter the prestigious 100-crore club.

Following a massive surge over the weekend, the film faced the “Monday test” on its 11th day. According to early trade reports, Bhooth Bangla collected approximately ₹3.65 crore on Monday. While this is a significant drop from its Sunday collection of ₹12.50 crore, trade analysts view the hold as steady given the film’s genre and target audience.

The domestic net collection now stands at an estimated ₹117.05 crore.

The film’s performance over its second weekend was a major highlight for the makers. After a quiet start in its first week, word-of-mouth regarding the chemistry between the ensemble cast—including Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav—led to a huge spike in footfalls.
Second Friday: ₹5.75 crore
Second Saturday: ₹10.75 crore
Second Sunday: ₹12.50 crore

On the global front, the film has been performing exceptionally well among the NRI diaspora. The worldwide gross has already surpassed the ₹180 crore milestone, making it one of the more successful mid-to-high budget ventures of the early 2026 season.

With its current earnings, Bhooth Bangla has already overtaken the lifetime collections of other recent horror-comedies like Munjya and Bhediya. It is now eyeing the records set by the original Stree, though it faces fresh competition from upcoming releases and the peak of the IPL 2026 season.

The film’s success is particularly poignant for fans as it marks the first time Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have worked together in over 15 years. It also features a posthumous performance by the legendary actor Asrani, who passed away in late 2025.

Industry experts predict that if the film maintains its weekday occupancy at current levels, it is on track to reach a lifetime domestic total of around ₹145–₹150 crore, cementing its status as a certified “Hit.” To know such
