Vijay recalled the immense grief of losing his supporters and stated that no level of success in life or politics could ever erase the profound heartbreak of the tragedy. He expressed that the loss felt intensely personal because many of the young victims were children who would smile and call him uncle whenever his films or songs appeared on television. With heavy emotion, the Chief Minister paid tribute to these young lives, stating that we lost those innocent children who were like God.
During his powerful address, the Chief Minister strongly rejected accusations of accountability shifted toward his party, instead pointing to a larger conspiracy and a total failure of crowd management by the authorities. Vijay questioned the security arrangements of the day, detailing how the police had previously advised him to alter his campaign routes in other districts due to overwhelming crowds, yet failed to give any such warning or alert before he arrived in Karur. He noted that the local authorities possessed full power to cancel the event if they felt the situation was unsafe. Instead, they chose to escort his convoy directly from the highway to the venue, leading him to trust their judgment blindly and even thank the officers on stage, completely unaware of the unfolding operational disaster.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also targeted his political opponents, specifically the previous Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, for heartlessly politicizing a human tragedy. He openly shared the intense pain of being mocked and falsely accused of running away and hiding while he was privately mourning the immense loss of life. Vijay slammed former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for leveraging the Assembly floor to attack him for political mileage rather than addressing the institutional shortcomings that led to the incident. Asserting that the public had already delivered a resounding reply in the recent elections by voting his government into power, Vijay urged the people to completely reject these opportunistic political forces in upcoming by-elections. As a permanent tribute, he announced that the TVK will construct a dedicated memorial in Karur to honor the stampede victims and ensure that such a tragedy is never forgotten or repeated.
