Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently shared candid details about her early career experiences, revealing that acclaimed actor Akshaye Khanna was once extremely challenging to work with on film sets.
Speaking on a recent podcast episode, Farah recalled choreographing Akshaye during the late 1990s for projects such as Doli Saja Ke Rakhna and Laawaris. During this era, she found his attitude highly frustrating, describing him as deeply irritable and often reluctant to stand or cooperate during lengthy dance rehearsals.
The experience became so exhausting for Farah that she explicitly decided to step away from choreographing any song that featured him, prioritizing a positive and smooth working environment over dealing with difficult behavior on set.
Explaining the root cause behind his past demeanor, Farah noted that Akshaye was dealing with severe insecurity over premature hair loss during that decade, which made him constantly irritated on set. He would frequently throw tantrums, complain about dialogues, and insist on wearing caps during rain sequences to conceal his thinning hair.
However, once he came to terms with his appearance, his entire energy changed, allowing his natural talent to shine through effortlessly.
Her initial opinion underwent a complete shift when the two reunited for the iconic 2001 film Dil Chahta Hai, directed by her cousin Farhan Akhtar.
