The much-anticipated collaboration between Bollywood icon Salman Khan and the “Lady Superstar” Nayanthara has officially moved from planning to production. On April 22 2026 the makers held a traditional muhurat puja ceremony in Mumbai marking the formal start of the film currently titled SVC63.

The project directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally is being positioned as one of the largest pan-India cinematic events of 2027.

Videos from the ceremony shared by the production house Sri Venkateswara Creations show a vibrant atmosphere on the Mumbai sets. Salman Khan made a stylish entry to the cheers of the crew while Nayanthara was seen participating in the traditional rituals alongside producer Dil Raju.

Following the ceremony the team immediately transitioned into the first filming schedule. Sources close to the production indicate that the initial phase will focus on high-intensity dialogue and character-building scenes before moving to a major action sequence later this month.

The biggest draw for fans is the fresh on-screen pairing of Salman and Nayanthara. While both stars have dominated their respective industries for decades they have never shared the screen in a full-length feature.
Salman Khan is reportedly appearing in a “never-seen-before” avatar that leans into a gritty performance-driven narrative rather than a standard masala comedy.

Nayanthara fresh off her recent success in the Hindi film Jawan is said to play a strong pivotal character that goes toe-to-toe with the leading man.

This film marks a significant milestone for director Vamshi Paidipally known for South Indian blockbusters like Maharshi and Varisu. This project serves as his official Hindi directorial debut.

The film is produced by veteran Telugu producer Dil Raju who is expanding his reach into the Hindi market on a grand scale. Industry insiders describe the film as a “high-intensity crime drama” that balances emotional family stakes with large-scale action a hallmark of Paidipally’s storytelling style.

While fans are eager for a title the makers are currently sticking to the working title SVC63. The film is reportedly being fast-tracked for an Eid 2027 release continuing Salman Khan’s long-standing tradition of releasing major blockbusters during the festive holiday.

In the meantime Salman Khan is also preparing for the release of his war drama Maatrubhumi while Nayanthara has several South Indian projects including Toxic with Yash lined up for the coming months.

The first schedule in Mumbai is expected to last for three weeks after which the unit will move to international locations for a series of high-budget songs and action set-pieces. To
