Popular actress Shriya Pilgaonkar recently opened up about her exciting new experience of shooting a full-fledged, glamorous Bollywood dance number for the upcoming film Haiwaan. Sharing the screen space with superstars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, along with co-star Saiyami Kher, Shriya revealed how this project gave her a fresh opportunity to showcase a whole new side of her screen persona.
Known widely for her grounded and intense performances in critically acclaimed OTT projects and films like Mirzapur, the actress expressed immense joy over stepping out of her usual comfort zone to embrace a vibrant, high-energy musical avatar for the big screen.
The promotional track, titled Main Toh Nahi Haiwaan, was filmed at SNDT College in Mumbai and was added to the film’s lineup late in the production process. Shriya shared that because the song was a last-minute addition, the cast had very little time to rehearse, which ultimately made the entire shooting process feel spontaneous, free-flowing, and energetic.
Choreographed by the renowned Bosco Martis and set to a catchy beat composed by Pritam, the dance number brings together the central cast in a stylish, lively setting that balances the otherwise intense psychological thriller atmosphere of the movie.
Reflecting on her time on set with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, Shriya mentioned that working alongside the iconic duo was an absolute blast. She noted that despite their massive stardom, the atmosphere on set was relaxed, lighthearted, and completely ego-free.
When asked if she drew inspiration from established dance icons like Katrina Kaif, Shriya explained that while she deeply admires Kaif’s effortlessness and energy, she did not try to replicate anyone else. Instead, she focused on enjoying the music, bringing her own personality into the performance, and making the most of a genre she has always loved but rarely had the chance to explore on camera.
