Veteran actor Soni Razdan has shared her thoughts on director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic Ramayana, which features her son-in-law Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role of Lord Ram. Expressing her excitement in a recent interaction, she described the project as a monumental cinematic endeavor that promises to deliver an experience unlike anything audiences have seen on the big screen before. Reflecting on the grand vision showcased in the initial glimpses, Soni Razdan shared that the scale of the film makes it look like a journey taking viewers to places they have never explored, marking that visual and emotional immersion as the most exciting part of the production.
The highly anticipated epic is being mounted on a massive global scale by producers Namit Malhotra, DNEG, Prime Focus Studios, and Monster Mind Creations. Aside from Ranbir Kapoor leading the cast, the film features Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and South superstar Yash as Ravana, alongside an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, and Lara Dutta. Adding to its international appeal, the project boasts a background score composed by Oscar winner Hans Zimmer alongside Grammy winner James Newton Howard and Indian maestro AR Rahman. Envisioned as a two-part saga, the first chapter of Ramayana is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on Diwali 2026, followed by the second installment on Diwali 2027.
As anticipation around the mega-budget project continues to build across trade circles and moviegoers alike, industry insiders note that Ranbir Kapoor has undergone extensive physical and vocal training to portray Lord Ram with authentic grace and poise. Soni Razdan highlighted how dedication to such iconic characters requires an extraordinary level of discipline, noting that the entire team’s commitment will undoubtedly reflect in the final output. With the combination of cutting-edge visual effects, a world-class musical score, and a star-studded cast bridging Hindi and South Indian cinema, the adaptation is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Indian films ever mounted on the global stage.
