The veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has recently opened up about the profound joy he is experiencing in his new role as a grandfather. Following the birth of Evaarah, the daughter of his daughter Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul, the actor has been vocal about how the little one has completely transformed his daily life and priorities. In a heartfelt conversation, Suniel Shetty described Evaarah as the “ghar ki lakshmi,” a term used to signify the arrival of good fortune and light into a household. He expressed that he is currently in the most fulfilling phase of his journey, where his professional commitments often take a backseat to the time he gets to spend nurturing this new bond. He shared that he makes it a point to finish his intense gym sessions by 7:00 am just so he can dedicate his mornings to his granddaughter before his work day officially begins.

One of the most touching aspects of this new chapter is the striking resemblance Suniel sees between Evaarah and his own daughter. The actor fondly referred to the toddler as “Athiya 2.0,” noting that her mannerisms and personality remind him vividly of Athiya’s childhood. This connection has led him to be somewhat “obsessed” with the baby, as he admits to constantly checking his phone for her pictures and rushing home at the earliest opportunity to be by her side. Interestingly, Suniel and KL Rahul reside in the same building in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area, which has made it incredibly easy for the doting grandfather to visit and participate in the baby’s daily milestones. He even revealed that Evaarah has started calling him “Aaja,” the Tulu word for grandfather, a sound that he says brings him unparalleled happiness.

Beyond the emotional connection, Suniel Shetty has even modified his legendary fitness regime to ensure he can keep up with the demands of a growing child. At 64, the actor has shifted his training focus toward improving his mobility and back strength, specifically to ensure he can lift and play with Evaarah without any physical strain. He mentioned that while he might have missed out on certain small moments while raising his own children, Athiya and Ahan, due to a relentless work schedule during the peak of his career, he is determined to experience every single bit of joy with Evaarah. This new sense of purpose is reflected in his social media posts and interviews, where he often emphasizes that the simple joy of holding his granddaughter outweighs any commercial success or professional accolade he has achieved over the decades.
