Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia have struck gold at the box office with their latest cinematic outing, The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, which has registered an extraordinary opening weekend. Blending elements of folklore, horror, and fantasy, the movie has managed to captivate audiences nationwide, pulling off a phenomenal performance on its first Sunday. Trade tracking reports indicate that the film experienced a massive upward surge as families and youth flooded single screens and multiplexes alike, comfortably pushing the cumulative three-day collection past the significant ₹33 crore milestone.
The theatrical journey began on a solid note when the movie opened to a promising ₹8 crore on Friday, establishing a firm base. Demonstrating strong word-of-mouth momentum, the collections grew substantially on Saturday to bring in around ₹11.25 crore. However, it was Sunday that truly transformed the weekend into a gala celebration for the makers, as the feature raked in an estimated single-day haul of upwards of ₹13 to ₹14 crore, marking its highest collection day since release. This stellar Sunday growth ensured that the total box office figures breached the ₹33 crore threshold, solidifying its place as a major box office success. Industry experts have noted that the film is performing exceptionally well in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, driven heavily by strong footfalls across non-national chains and single-screen cinemas in the heartland circuits.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Arunabh Kumar, the narrative follows a rational Mumbai-based engineer named Rishi, played by Sidharth Malhotra, alongside his wife Mamta, portrayed by Tamannaah Bhatia, as they travel to his ancestral village in Devanchal during the backdrop of regional festivities. The unique cultural roots, gripping thriller elements, and stellar performances have resonated deeply with moviegoers, even amidst stiff competition from other simultaneous box office releases. With industry heavyweights praising the project and housefull boards glowing across various regions, all eyes are now set on how the movie sustains its grip during the crucial Monday test to script a long-standing theatrical run.
