Following a massive opening day performance where the movie minted over ₹101 crore net in India alone, the film witnessed a noticeable drop in momentum on its second and third days. Despite the domestic dip, international footfalls and strong regional backing helped the action spectacle push its worldwide gross collection past the ₹221 crore milestone within just three days of hitting the big screen. Hindi markets contributed the largest share to domestic earnings, followed by steady occupancy in Yash’s home territory of Karnataka.
While crossing the ₹221 crore mark globally in three days remains an impressive achievement, Toxic continues to trail behind major box office juggernauts, including Yash’s previous blockbuster K.G.F: Chapter 2 and the high-octane release Dhurandhar 2. Trade reports indicate that K.G.F: Chapter 2 had crossed over ₹400 crore worldwide by the end of its third day, leaving Toxic well behind his own past benchmark. Similarly, Dhurandhar 2 maintained a massive lead with record-breaking numbers during its opening weekend, making the box office race far more competitive than trade analysts had initially projected.
Film trade experts attribute the decline on days two and three to mixed audience reviews and divided word-of-mouth regarding the dark narrative style of the film. However, with a star-studded cast including Kiara Advani and Nayanthara alongside Yash, theatre owners and distributors are closely monitoring the upcoming weekend shows to see if the action drama can bounce back.
